Tzermiado

Tzermiado or Tzermiadon (official: Tzermiadon) is a hamlet in the Lassithi prefecture of Crete, and the headquarters of the titular Community and Municipality of Lassithi Plateau (Lassithi District).

It has 637 residents, according to the 2011 census. It has a secondary school, a high school, a health center, bank branches, and a post office, with the primary school closing in 2014 owing to a lack of students and merging with Agios Georgios’.

Its population primarily work in the potato and various fruit and vegetable industries. At a height of 850 meters, it is located 49 kilometers west of Agios Nikolaos and 55 kilometers east of Heraklion.
