Sougia

Sougia Crete is a settlement on the south west coast of Chania, 70 kilometers from Chania town and 12 kilometers from Paleochora. This little beach community is quite peaceful and underdeveloped, with only one short access road running across the high slopes.

The distant south coast settlements of Agia Roumeli, Chora Sfakion, and Loutro are visited daily by boats from Paleochora, which connect to Agia Roumeli, Chora Sfakion, and Loutro.

This hamlet is also an ideal starting point for exploring the Samaria Gorge or visiting the lovely Paleochora Beaches or Elafonisi Beach.
