Perivolia is a coastal village located 2 km east of rethymno town. Perivolia is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. This long sandy beach is actually a natural continuation of Rethymno beach. It is open on the north side and is exposed to the strong winds known as meltemia.
The beach is quite well organized with plenty of hotels and other types of accommodation in front of the beach itself. Plenty of entertainment, food and drinking options are available at the beach.
Nightlife bars also abound in this area and you will find facilities for swimming, sea sports and sun-bathing (umbrellas and sun beds). You could access the beach from Rethymno by taxi, public bus, rental cars or motorbikes. A better alternative could be walking it up from the city center to the beach.
