The lovely Vai beach, often known as Palm Forest, is 25 kilometers east of Sitia and 94 kilometers east of Agios Nikolaos. It is Greece’s sole native wild date palm grove, spanning 250 square kilometers and containing 5000 palm trees, making it Europe’s biggest known palm tree forest. Vai is one of Greece’s most beautiful beaches, because to its breathtaking scenery.
The existence of this woodland is credited to Phoenician merchants who tossed away the seeds of the dates they were eating during the Classical period. Kilometers of pristine, silky golden sand stretch out in front of this one-of-a-kind woodland, bordered by an azure sea.
Thousands of people flock to the area because of its enchantment and tropical atmosphere, making it quite busy during peak season. To discourage fires, the beach’s main gate is accessible from sunrise to sunset, and camping is forbidden. On the beach, there are snack bars and coffee shops.
