My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Capsis Astoria Hotel during our vacation to Heraklion, Crete. We were excited to experience this historic hotel, which has been a fixture in the city for over 50 years, and we were not disappointed. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, from the stunning decor to the exceptional service to the world-class amenities.
One of the first things that struck us about The Capsis Astoria Hotel was its grandeur. The lobby is spacious and elegant, with high ceilings, marble floors, and ornate chandeliers that create a sense of luxury and sophistication. The hotel’s history is evident throughout the space, with photographs and artifacts on display that tell the story of the hotel’s past and its significance to the city.
Our room at The Capsis Astoria Hotel was equally impressive. We stayed in a deluxe room with a balcony, which offered breathtaking views of the city and the sea. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a plush king-size bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a marble bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. The decor was elegant and timeless, with a neutral color palette and high-quality furnishings that made us feel pampered and relaxed.
One of the highlights of our stay at The Capsis Astoria Hotel was the exceptional service we received from the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel like royalty. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from providing recommendations for local restaurants and attractions to arranging transportation and even making dinner reservations for us. We were truly impressed by the level of service we received, which was among the best we have experienced at any hotel.
Another standout feature of The Capsis Astoria Hotel was the world-class amenities. The hotel offers a range of facilities and services that cater to every need, from a fully equipped fitness center to a rooftop pool and bar. We enjoyed spending time at the pool, which offered stunning views of the city and the sea, as well as a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. The poolside bar was the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink or a light meal while soaking up the sun.
One of the highlights of our stay at The Capsis Astoria Hotel was the dining experience. The hotel offers several restaurants and bars, each with its own unique atmosphere and cuisine. We particularly enjoyed our dinner at Herbs’ Garden, the hotel’s signature restaurant, which offers a fine dining experience with a focus on local and organic ingredients. The food was exquisite, with a range of creative and flavorful dishes that showcased the best of Cretan cuisine. We also enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel’s main restaurant, which offered a wide range of fresh and delicious options, including traditional Greek yogurt with honey, fresh pastries, and made-to-order omelets.
In conclusion, we cannot recommend The Capsis Astoria Hotel enough to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Heraklion. From the grandeur of the lobby to the elegance of the rooms to the exceptional service and amenities, this hotel truly has it all. We felt pampered and indulged throughout our stay, and we cannot wait to return someday and experience this historic hotel once again.
